Home & Personal Care FAQs
Non-Medical Home & Personal Care is a service that assists those in need so they can continue living independently.
Home and Personal Care enables your loved one to live as independently as possible without having to give up the comforts of their own home. It allows them to be in a familiar environment, sleep in their own bed at night, and stay close to loved ones, friends, and their family pets. It also brings peace of mind to know that they have access to our skilled and consistent caregivers. Families and loved ones are not always close by and the world is so busy these days for everyone, leaving an older family member or friend alone at home can be scary or unnerving if you are not close by. Helping Hands Home Care Service is able to reassure you that your loved one is able to enjoy and stay within the comforts of their own home with a skilled caregiver there to help them on a daily basis. We will help them navigate their daily life so you can manage yours.
This varies for each of our clients. There are many different ways people pay for Home and Personal Care costs. Some of the services may be covered by a type of insurance you have, or by Medicare or Medicaid. Some services may be covered by Veteran's benefits as well. Services can be paid for directly by the person receiving care, which is commonly known as “private pay.” To ensure you are receiving the right service, at the right time, under the right benefit, it’s important to be aware of all the various sources available to help pay for your Home and Personal Care Services.
A team member from Helping Hands Home Care Service will meet with you and your loved one for a full assessment of their specific needs. We will meet you wherever your loved one calls home initially, so you feel more comfortable, and it also allows us to do a safety inspection of the place of residence. At this time, we will discuss the services that are needed and what we are able to provide for your loved one. Helping Hands Home Care Service will develop an individualized care plan and work specifically with you to modify it as necessary. We will then place one of our skilled caregivers that best matches the plan of care in your loved one’s home. We strive to find a caregiver that best matches your loved one's needs and their personality.
The great thing about Home and Personal Care is that we are able to personalize it to best suit your specific needs. If you would like assistance around the house or personal care once or twice a week, we are able to help. Our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives by providing them with the support that they need to continue to be independent in their own home and in their community.
Helping Hands Home Care Service can re-evaluate and adjust your loved one’s care plan at any time that you/we feel is necessary. We understand that health conditions and other things in a person’s life can and do change. We will consult with you and explore the needs to provide quality care for your loved one. The health and safety of our clients are always our top priorities at Helping Hands Home Care Service.
There is no set length of time for home and personal care—it can vary greatly based on a person’s unique needs. Some home and personal care services may last for only a few weeks, while others may be lifelong.
No, Home and Personal Care Services can be provided wherever your loved one calls home—a private residence, a senior living community, or within a facility.
